Who is Berfu?

I love travelling ALOT!!
My name is Berfu Karakoç and I was born on 16 April 1995 in the southernmost corner of Turkey: Anamur, Mersin. I'm a proud Turkish. I am currently at Middle East Technical University studying Teaching English as a Foreign Language because I'd like to teach what I'm best at. What I like about my studies is that they are all different kinds of classes and they all contribute to my general knowledge and language development. What I dislike about my studies is that sometimes when they are not in my area of interest I reluctantly attend the classes. My home is in campus right now; I'm staying at the same dormitory since I came here in 2013.

I am saving up for my personal interests and the gifts for my loved ones. I really love to buy presents for the important people in my life and make them happy by surprising them :)
My favorite activities include watching YouTube channels I'm subscribed to and singing my heart out. I love to watch YouTube because it's a getaway from the outer world and responsibilities for me. And singing is the only activity that can make me feel my emotions most powerfully.
I love to say 'thank you' to people who deserve and my most over-used saying is probably "eyvallah".
My favorite meals are lahmacun and any food that is made of eggplant. My favorite snack is cacao Hoşbeş and Ruffles.
The person who supports me the most is my beloved mother and in my life she has helped me to get motivated on the tasks I was feeling insecure about. It's never enough how much I thank her.

The best time of the day for me is when I meet and hang out with the people I love such as my close friends. Because they cheer me up easily and make me forget about my fatigue and stress.
My greatest inspirations are my dreams. As in Journey's song, "Don't stop believing, hold on to that feeling!"

When I was little I remember that I was a more independent and determined person. My childhood was generally fun and positive and this is because of my optimistic, freespirited, happy-go-lucky personality. I always found school to be fun and this is because of my good friends around me.

The worst teacher I ever had was a Social Studies teacher in middle school because she never had a smiley face but a constant frowny one because she was always angry. She was very strict about everything and most of the time shouting at us. This made me realize what kind of teacher I should not be.
Derek & I
The best teacher I ever had was Derek Dowey in my first year of university. Even though he had very strict rules, I have learned the most from him; he was a very influencial teacher. He always told us not to study hard but to study effectively and efficiently. Also he has a good sense of humor :)
In my twenties I hope to do my MA then become an instructor. In late twenties I want to get married, have kids and have a happy family (inshAllah!). In my thirties I hope to travel many countries with my family and still be working. In my forties I hope to have children with succesful and bright futures, a happy marriage and a healthy and peaceful life for all my family. My main goals in life to have a welfare life and a happy family. I am very worried about my future because I am afraid not to achieve my dreams but still I trust my luck and this gives me a little confidence.
I believe I am going to graduate from METU NCC with a good CGPA because it hit me this semester that I have to study more. I am very happy when I am surrounded by my loved ones, my family and my friends, people who motivate me and I see this as a blessing. It is important to have such people you can trust around you. I know that my destiny is in my hands and I will do my best to achieve my dreams :)
